"Louder Harder Faster" By Warrant
Warrant’s prime popularity began with 1989’s “Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich” and grew even larger with 1990’s “Cherry Pie”. With the late, great Jani Lane’s departure from the band in 2008 caused series of lineup changes leading to current vocalist, Robert Mason’s addition to the band.
“Louder Harder Faster”, Warrant’s 9th studio album, was released in May of 2017. The album begins with the title track which embraces the classic Warrant sound but adds a slightly heavier element as well. “Devil Driver” opens with a bass line that can be felt to your core. “Perfect” really accentuates the amazing guitar playing of Warrant founder Erik Turner and Joey Allen. “Only Broken Heart” is very 80’s with a punk edge to it. “U In My Life” is the first true ballad on “Louder Harder Faster” and it brings a rawness to the album. “Music Man” reminds me of a modern “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”. “Faded” has quite a catchy melody, then leads to one of my favorites, “New Rebellion”. The final three songs create a perfect last moments of the album.
Being vocalist Robert Mason’s second writing contribution to Warrant, “Louder Harder Faster” is a sure hit. The Down Boys’ album peaked at 19 on the Billboard Top Independent Album chart.
